Organised by The Spanish Foundation for Science and Techonology (FECYT), which one of its main objectives is the dissemination of scientific culture and innovation throuhg its strategic actions "to disseminate" and "to transfer", Media For Science Forum 2010 (MFSF2010) is a science journalism European congress that will deal with strategic issues about science communication and science journalism and its social dimension. Science journalism plays a vital role in informing and educating audiences about the scientific advances and their social applications, yet it faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities offered by the emerging digital technologies.
Also, Media for Science Forum will be attended by experts and gather the latest research in science communication, in areas such as social perception and public participation in science.
MFSF2010 will take place from 12th to 13th May 2010 at La Casa Encendida in Madrid, as one of the actions to be launched by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain during the Spanish Presidency of the European Union.
By the end of the Forum, a report of conclusions about Science Journalism and Science Communication in the Knowledge Society will be presented. The statement will include recommendations for better cooperation between science community, science journalisms and the citizens of Europe.
